Apr 2002 – Feb 2003: The ‘TOP-Study’ (Thematic Organized Psychoses Research): Gathered neuropsychological data at Dikemark mental hospital, completed the pilot study, build a network of collaborates, and trained a small group of psychologists. Aug 2001–Feb 2003: Worked as freelance consultant on various projects at Ullevaal University Hospital (prof. Nina Aarhus Smeby; Otti Trulsson) and the University of Oslo (prof. Nils Inge Landrø):
• Reviewed and analyzed research projects, suggested statistical tests, conducted data analysis and prepared material using SPSS, Excel and PowerPoint.
• Wrote reports on ongoing and completed projects; applied for research grants.
• Translated articles and psychological questionnaire tests from English to Norwegian.
• Trained psychology students in the use neuropsychological tests.
Jan 2000 – may 2001: Worked with prof. Andres Magnusson at the Department of Psychiatry, Ullevaal University Hospital with a scholarship from the Research Council of Norway. Used tryptophan depletion to investigate the effects of reduces serotonergic neurotransmission in a healthy population and patients diagnosed with bipolar disorder in manic phase, fibromyalgia or migraine. Wrote the main thesis for my Clinical Psychology degree titled: “Impulsiveness is related to the neurotransmitter serotonin.”
1997 – 1998: Supervised by prof. Theodora Duka at the Department of Experimental Psychology, University of Sussex, I designed, collected and analyzed the data for my BSc main thesis titled: “A field study on the cognitive effects of ‘ecstasy’ (MDMA) on two frontal lobe related tasks.”
Jun 1997 – Aug 1997: Research assistant for prof. Theodora Duka at the Department of Experimental Psychology, University of Sussex. Managed participants and collected data to find the effects of alcohol on frontal lobe functions and implicit memory. Lectures, Courses:
